But it’s not just at a local level that CREATE is successful. Nationally CREATE has worked in partnership for several years on the supply side with the Dixons Stores Group, the Littlewoods Shop Direct Group and with Electrolux. CREATE acts as the conduit for recycling or refurbishing much of their end of life or damaged goods and is hugely gratefull to all those organisations for the support they give our charity.

Because of these national supply links, and also because of our 12 years experience in this field, we have been able to support Remploy in the development of their white goods refurbishment operations in the last five years, most specifically in Lanarkshire, Leicester and Cardiff.

More recently we worked with the Belfast Local Strategic Partnership in their work on setting up a white goods operation in Northern Ireland. This has led to a development contract between CREATE and the Bryson Charitable Trust in Belfast for their new white goods recycling operation.

We give advice and consultancy nationally and are looking to develop further initiatives around the UK over the next five years.

The WEEE Directives have opened up doors for different partnerships and for alternative national work for CREATE. National logistics arrangements with companies such as M.Baker Recycling, Wincanton, EnvironCom and DHL could well be to the fore in the future
