We work with many charities to extend our effectiveness.
We have worked closely with the national charity Remploy over the last five years, supporting their national development of white goods refiurbishment operations, specifically at their factories in Lanarkshire, Leicester and Cardiff. These are operations that have been supplied with raw product via CREATE contacts and supported by the CREATE team. They are managed and run however completely by Remploy.
In Liverpool, Sefton and Warrington we work closely with the Furniture Resource Centre Group who were instrumental in the development of CREATE in 1995. We work with their household collection service Bulky Bob’s, and also rent space in their Revive shop in Liverpool. White goods collected by Bulky Bob’s are delivered to our sortation centre in Speke. Products refurbished by CREATE are then sold through CREATE's outlets including the Revive shop in Liverpool.
CREATE works with many charities that supply used furniture to low income households. These charities often wish to supply white goods but don't wish to invest in the infrastructure required to collect, refurbish and provide the after sales cover needed to sell large electrical appliances. CREATE generally stocks these partner charities shops with our products at our expense and allows them to sell the products on a commision basis. This helps them meet their social aims, provides extra income without investment but avoids the legal and engineering implications of distributing and backing up the sale of large electrical appliances.
Partners charities that CREATE currently work with in 2007 are Oxfam in Liverpool, W.I.R.E. in the Wirral, Future in St.Helens,Refurbs in Flint, New2U in Wrexham and Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury.
CREATE is currently providing a service contract to the Bryson Charitable Group in Belfast who have started up with CREATE' support a white goods refurbishment operation in Belfast
In Manchester CREATE is working with Emerge Recycling to support their aspirations to develop white goods refurbishment in Manchester.
